Tulips at Crystal Hermitage
My wife and I went to see the tulips at the Crystal Hermitage and I took lots of photos. Was fun to get the camera out. Been a minute for sure.
I limited myself to just a 50mm lens today. No real reason other than I thought the limitation would be inspiring. Mostly it just meant getting close to the tulips. To be honest though I was more focused on the space and the tulips than the photography. Still though, got some shots.
The Pretty Shots

The Fun Shots
I did, however, have some fun with the tulips.
It was such an exciting experience. I was shocked at the size of the tulips. The arrangements, the colors, the people, the layers and textures. It was a lot!
The words we used to describe it were “sublime” and “enamored”.
I have been really into Hal Eastman’s work lately. He captures some cool energy in his photos. So I tried to channel some of that.
Kinda going for that ethereal vibe, something you just have to feel and with less concrete detail and structure. We moved pretty quickly through the space, and so I think I captured a bit of that in these shots.
