With over two decades of experience in web development and infrastructure I have built a career around fixing and improving performance, streamlining devlepment processes, and delivering performant web experiences. I consider myself a generalist in this space. I am equally comfortable whether it is frontend development for marketing websites, building web applications to support business operations, to designing, building, and maintaining highly available, scalable infrastructure for growing ecommerce startups.
I resonate deeply with DevOps philosophy and try to apply the principles at all aspects of my work.
Currently I am a Senior DevOps Engineer where I am back in the world of containers, and systems, and Ruby on Rails.

Senior DevOps Engineer
Implemented a modern CI/CD pipeline, championed continuous delivery engineering practices, and containerized the software stack. We transitioned from performing from high-risk multi-hour deployments, to low-risk sub 1 hour deployments. As a result releases are more stable, the mean time to recovery has been greatly reduced, and the team is delivering stable code daily.
Migrated service infrastructure to a new provider (AWS) with minimal disruption and effectively zero downtime.
The migration away from virtualization and into a container based environment has improved the ability for teams to iterate and release code.
Developed tool chain used by the engineers and the CI/CD pipeline to build, test, and deploy production quality images. The tools developed have greatly reduced on-boarding time for new engineers onto the project.
